MANILA, Philippines — More areas have been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 as tropical cyclone Ada intensified into a tropical storm on Thursday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
Based on its 5 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tropical storm is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, with gusts of up to 80 kph.
