MANILA, Philippines — The game development industry in the Philippines has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, according to the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP). Membership in the association has more than doubled, reflecting the industry’s expansion.
“Three years ago, we had 40 to 50 members. Now, after three years, we have surpassed 100 members,” said GDAP president James Lo. “About 30% of our members are from the academic sector, while the rest are game development studios. Most of these are outsourcing companies, but all contribute significantly to the industry’s growth. We’re definitely advancing the sector.”
