By Tropical Storm Higos entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday afternoon and was given the local name “Gardo,” the state weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Gardo entered PAR around 3 p.m.
Gardo was last recorded carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 105 kph, while moving northwestward at 45 kph.
