By MANILA, Philippines — Six civilians were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the reported kidnapping and killing of cockfighting enthusiasts (sabungeros), in addition to nine police officers already in restrictive custody, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame, CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Robert Morico II said they received two arrest warrants from the Sta. Cruz, Laguna Regional Trial Court, Branch 26, against 18 accused, including gaming tycoon Atong Ang and 10 police officers.
