PNP – warns of possible robbery, theft spike amid rising costs

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said it was preparing for a possible spike in robbery and theft cases amid rising prices.

“The Philippine National Police acknowledges that it won’t just stay a perception. It’s possible that there’d be an increase in crimes against property,” the agency’s spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said at the Kapihan sa Manila Hotel forum.

“In line with this, we’ve increased our police interventions,” he added. “Our number one intervention is police visibility so that the people can really feel that the Philippine National Police is there.
