MANILA, Philippines — The policy against not wearing a shirt in public spaces has been reinstated in Manila and Quezon City, but this time, it is being implemented with “common sense,” the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
The Manila and Quezon City Police Districts previously suspended the policy under the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) “Safer Cities” initiative amid public backlash two weeks ago.
“After the suspension, the following week, it was reinstated,” PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño told reporters during a briefing at Camp Crame on Friday.
