By MANILA, Philippines — Cotabato City is forecast to have a dangerous heat index level at 42 degrees Celsius (°C) on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Also, the heat index in Metro Manila, is forecast to be under the “extreme caution” category as it is expected to reach 40°C at Pagasa’s station in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City, and 38°C at its station in the Science Garden in Quezon City.
Ranging from 42 degrees Celsius to 51°C, the heat index under the “danger” category could likely cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion, while heat stroke is probable with continued exposure to the sun.
