MANILA — A 35-year-old Filipino tourist died from injuries after being hit by a taxi in Tsuen Wan West in Hong Kong on Tuesday, the Philippine Consulate General confirmed Wednesday.
An 11-second video of the incident posted by local media showed the taxi suddenly crashing and pinning the victim against a column as he was coming out of a hotel with his luggage.
The Philippine Consulate General is providing assistance to the victim’s family and is in close coordination with local authorities to investigate the incident, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement.
