MANILA, Philippines — Resigned Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co is now accusing first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos of trying to stop congressional inquiries into soaring food prices on behalf of her brother, Martin Araneta, who was then implicated in the 2022 onion price crisis.
On Wednesday, the embattled former lawmaker claimed in his latest “tell-all” video that the first lady “personally intervened” in a 2022 House investigation into the spike in onion prices as well as a 2024 inquiry into soaring rice prices.
