By MANILA, Philippines — Rains are expected in parts of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) on Saturday, June 14, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The ITCZ is an area where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres meet.
“These rains can possibly be strong rains,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said in Filipino during the agency’s morning weather forecast.
