PCG: Zero tolerance policy, sanctions vs indiscriminate firing amid New Year revelry

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Tuesday warned that it will enforce a zero tolerance policy against personnel who will engage in indiscriminate firing as it underscored the importance of public safety during the New Year celebrations.

In a statement, the agency reminded PCG personnel of the strict prohibition against the discharge of firearms during the revelry. PCG commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan warned all PCG personnel that “indiscriminate or celebratory gunfire is a serious offense punishable under existing laws and regulations.”
