MANILA, Philippines — The government needs to have a supplemental budget that would allow the provision of aid for sectors affected by the fuel price crisis — including the agricultural sector which may suffer from higher fertilizer costs — Sen. Francis Pangilinan said on Tuesday.
In an interview, Pangilinan said he is supporting a Bayanihan-type supplemental budget since the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA) was crafted before the Middle East conflict — which means the crisis was not anticipated.
