*MANILA*, Philippines — Several areas in Palawan were placed under orange and yellow rainfall warning on Tuesday due to the shear line, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The shear line, or the convergence of cold northeast monsoon winds and warm easterlies, is expected to bring heavy rainfall to eight areas in the province.
Under the orange rainfall warning, 15 to 30 millimeters (mm) of intense rain per hour may be observed and may persist for the next two hours.
