By MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Saturday confirmed the resignation of Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong as special adviser to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez said it was “unfortunate” that Magalong resigned from the commission probing alleged anomalies worth billions of pesos in flood control projects and other infrastructure.
“The demand of the Filipino people from the Independent Commission on Infrastructire is higher than any one person. The commission, made up of distinguished professionals with unassailable integrity, has hit the ground running on day 1,” Gomez said in a statement.
