PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — A routine highway checkpoint turned into a major anti-drug bust on Tuesday afternoon after police discovered P68 million worth of suspected shabu hidden inside a modified tricycle (locally known as bao-bao) along the national highway in Barangay Buenavista here.
Police Major Jason Ray Gomera, team leader of the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Highway Patrol Group, said his unit, together with other law enforcement groups, was conducting Oplan Sita and anti-carnapping operations at around 2:45 p.m. when they flagged down the tricycle for “unauthorized body modification.”
