By MANILA – A Filipino passenger arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, was apprehended at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Thursday after authorities discovered suspected marijuana concealed in his checked-in baggage.
According to initial information from the Bureau of Customs (BOC), the illegal substance, locally known as “kush,” weighed 8.91 kilograms and had an estimated street value of PHP13.365 million.
The BOC, in a news release, said the presence of illegal drugs was subsequently confirmed after a positive alert from a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) K9 unit.
