MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) now has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression, the state weather bureau said.
In its 5 a.m. update on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said should the LPA become a tropical depression, it will be given a local name “Kiko” and will be the first cyclone in the country in September.
