2 LPAs in PAR unlikely to develop into cyclone within 24 hours – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) were spotted inside the Philippine area of responsibility on Sunday, but neither is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours, the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA located 90 kilometers east-northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, as of 3 a.m., is “unlikely” to develop into a tropical cyclone, according to weather specialist Obet Badrina.
