MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is forecast to bring rains over Luzon, while the southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, is affecting the Visayas and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Thursday.
Based on Pagasa’s morning forecast, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the LPA inside PAR, which was last spotted 390 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, is expected to bring widespread rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
