MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a “high” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.
In a 5 a.m. weather forecast, Weather Specialist Loriedin De la Cruz-Galicia said the LPA was last located 975 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon.
“Currently, there is a high chance that it will develop into a typhoon within the next 24 hours,” she added.
