MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rain is forecast in parts of Luzon on Independence Day, June 12, due to a low-pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility and the southwest monsoon or habagat.
In its weather advisory on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said moderate to heavy rains, bringing 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall, are expected to persist in the following areas:
