MANILA, Philippines — From being at the forefront of the University of Santo Tomas’ offense in the UAAP, Josh Ybañez has embraced the libero role since representing the country at Alas Pilipinas.
The culmination of his versatile game could come in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship when he defends the floor for the Philippines against world-class talent.
“Pressure is constant,” said Ybañez in Filipino. “It’s always there, even if it’s not the World Championship. There’s always pressure. So I just embrace it and focus on loving what I do.”
