By MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring rains to parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, while Luzon will experience hot weather due to easterlies on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
ITCZ is the convergence of winds from the southern and northern hemisphere, while the easterlies are warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
“From morning to noon, expect cloudy skies. While cloudy skies, frequent rains, and thunderstorms may be seen in the afternoon and evening. It will last for an hour or two,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said in the 5 a.m. weather forecast.
