Lucena City — Five areas in Calabarzon are expected to experience dangerous heat index levels on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 12 and 13, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its 5 p.m. bulletin issued Monday, Pagasa said Cavite City, Tanauan City, Alabat, and Los Baños are forecast to register a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
Pagasa classifies heat index values between 42°C and 51°C in the “danger” category, warning that prolonged exposure to extreme heat may lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
