ILOILO CITY — Heat conditions across the Visayas are expected to intensify on Tuesday and Wednesday with several areas likely to remain under “extreme caution” and some nearing the “danger” threshold, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Forecasts show most parts of Western and Central Visayas registering heat indices between 33°C and 41°C, with some areas possibly reaching 42°C or higher during peak afternoon hours. While “extreme caution” levels can already cause heat cramps and exhaustion, readings beyond 42°C pose a higher risk of heat stroke.
