MANILA, Philippines – With corruption now exposed in defective and non-existent flood control projects, public outrage is translating into street protests, with more individuals expected to voice out their indignation.
Last Sunday, Sept. 7, a “Takbo Laban sa Korapsyon” was held at the University of the Philippines Diliman to demand accountability for the billions in government resources that had been lost to anomalous infrastructure works.
As stated by the Department of Finance, the economy has lost P42.3 billion to P118.5 billion in the last two years because of flood control projects that were incomplete or did not exist at all.
