Sen. Imee Marcos is allegedly sowing hatred among Filipinos and “turning a blind eye” to the government’s work, Palace press officer Claire Castro said on Wednesday in response to the senator’s claim that the government lacks concern for farmers and fisherfolk.
The senator joined members of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) during their rally on Tuesday evening at the People Power Monument in Edsa, where she again delivered sharp criticisms against her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“Why do we say that his statements are baseless? Because she is fueling anger toward our fellow Filipino farmers and fisherfolk by claiming that the government is providing them with no assistance at all,” said Castro at a Palace briefing.
