MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Domeng (international name: Jangmi) will continue to intensify as it nears peak intensity on Monday but it is less likely to make a landfall in the country, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Domeng was last spotted 670 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes as of 3 a.m.
It was moving north-northwest at 20 kph, with Pagasa noting that it will continue moving north-northwest until Monday before recurving towards southern Japan.
