MANILA, Philippines – Dangerous heat indices are expected in Metro Manila and at least 54 other areas on Friday, May 22, the state weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in Metro Manila, the heat index may reach up to 42°C in Quezon City while up to 44°C is expected in Pasay City.
These fall under the “danger” category, or heat indices ranging from 42°C to 51°C, where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, while heat stroke is probable with continued exposure.
