By MANILA, Philippines — A murder suspect was killed in a reported shootout with police in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, prompting authorities to place the four responding officers under restrictive custody over a homicide complaint, the town’s top cop said on Tuesday.
The officers were transporting the murder suspect, along with a rape suspect, back to Catanduanes aboard a sedan on Rolando Andaya Highway on Feb. 6 when they made a stop in Del Gallego to use the restroom, town police chief Capt. Bernie Undecimo told reporters in a phone interview.
