By MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion National University was on the brink of getting dragged by University of Santo Tomas to a fifth set, before prized rookie Sam Cantada saved the day.
With a career-defining debut, Cantada helped the Lady Bulldogs open their post-Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon era with a 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 26-24 win over UST in the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.
