Kim Atienza has responded to remarks made by Sen. Robin Padilla that today’s youth is “weak” amid discussions on mental health and rising suicide cases.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Feb. 12, Atienza called for “a little kindness (and understanding)” following Padilla’s comments during a Senate hearing on the proposed Children’s Safety in Social Media Act the day before.
“While views may differ on how depression is understood across generations, one thing is clear: support should always be available. That’s why we’ve put together a list of 24/7 crisis hotlines, because whether or not the word was used before, the need for help is real for many today,” the TV host captioned his post alongside a video of Padilla.
