Crising intensifies, Saturday PAR exit expected; Signal No. 2 in 8 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Crising (international name: Wipha) slightly intensified early Saturday morning as it continued to head northwest and away from the country, said the state weather bureau.

Only eight areas are now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2, while 11 areas are still at Signal No. 1.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its 2:00 a.m. typhoon bulletin, said Crising was last spotted swirling over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan.
