MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-six inbound packages at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) cargo facility were found to contain P109.8 million worth of shabu (crystal meth), the Bureau of Customs (BOC) said.
In a statement on Friday, BOC said the parcels were discovered in three styrofoam boxes declared as e-commerce packages arriving from Hanoi, Vietnam.
These items were flagged during an X-ray screening and were inspected early evening last Monday, leading to the discovery of 16,150 grams of a white crystalline substance, according to the bureau, The substance was later confirmed to be shabu after field testing by the bureau’s drug task force and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
