By From the surface, XONARA appears to be seven girls who move like a well-oiled machine. The female septet—consisting of Eurekah, Megumi, Namie, Ella, Dominique, Tin, and Lei—move and even dress in sync. But apart from the initial impressions they showed onstage, what they want to emulate in their careers is the strength of Melchora Aquino or Tandang Sora.
“XONARA means sonar, narra, and Sora,” Megumi said during the girl group’s launch at the First United Building, a historic building in Ermita, Manila, when asked to explain the meaning of the group’s name. Outside the venue, the streets of Ermita were lined with themed fairs containing the girl group’s logo and their signature color.
