Super Typhoon Inday to strengthen habagat, bringing rainy weekend – Pagasa

Although Super Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi) is not expected to make landfall in the Philippines, the state weather bureau said it might enhance the southwest monsoon, or habagat, and bring rainy weather to most parts of the country this weekend.

In its daily forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the prevailing southwest monsoon is currently affecting parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and the western section of the Visayas on Wednesday, July 8.
