By MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte welcomed the Senate’s decision to archive the impeachment case against her, stating that the upper chamber’s decision must be respected.
Duterte issued the statement just a day after the Senate voted to archive her impeachment case, following a Supreme Court (SC) ruling that deemed the complaint unconstitutional.
“Let us respect the role of the Philippine Senate and its part in our nation. The decision of the majority of the members of the Senate must be followed by all,” said Duterte in Cebuano in a chance interview in Davao City.
