By MANILA, Philippines — The southern portion of Mindanao is forecast to be rainy, while the rest of the country is expected to experience hot weather on Wednesday, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Southern Mindanao’s rains are brought by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), or the convergence of winds coming from the northern and southern hemispheres.
“Particularly in parts of Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, Sulu, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi,” Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres said in the 5 a.m. weather forecast.
