By MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Northern Luzon and Mindanao are seeing overcast skies and rains while hot and humid weather are expected elsewhere on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Rhea Torres, weather specialist of Pagasa, said the rains in northern Luzon are due to a frontal system, while easterlies cause the same in parts of Mindanao.
The frontal system refers to the boundary or zone where different air masses meet and interact, while easterlies are the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
