*MANILA*, Philippines — Overcast skies and rains will persist in thirteen areas across Luzon and Visayas on Wednesday due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon or amihan, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a morning forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja explained that the northeast monsoon will influence the weather in Northern and Central Luzon, while the shear line will affect Southern Luzon and Visayas.
(In the Bicol Region, the rains are due to the shear line or the meeting of warm and cold air masses which will also affect Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon.)
