By President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Friday the government will ramp up its efforts in collecting garbage and declogging drainage to reduce flooding in Quezon City.
Marcos made the statement following his inspection of the newly rehabilitated drainage system along G. Araneta Avenue in Quezon City.
“Mabuti naman, mukhang effective naman, dahil kausap ko lahat yung mga, yung ibang mga taga-rito, at ika nila, ay dati, lumalampas daw sa second floor yung tubig dito kapag umuulan kahit kaunti lang (So far, it appears to be effective. I spoke with several residents, and they said that in the past, floodwaters would rise above the second floor of buildings here even during relatively light rainfall),” Marcos said.
