By Chris Newsome knocked down the game-winning basket as Meralco survived Blackwater by the skin of its teeth, 116-114, in the 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo on Tuesday.
With the score tied at 114-all, a speeding Chris Banchero found an open Newsome in the paint for the go-ahead basket that lifted the Bolts to a 2-1 record in Group B.
“I saw New and it was natural. I threw it to him and he had a good finish. I thought New did a great job tonight as well, defending their (Bossing) import,” Banchero said.
