By MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau on Wednesday warned of increasing heat index levels, urging the public to take precautions against prolonged exposure to extreme heat.
This comes two days after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) announced the start of the dry season as the northeast monsoon ended.
“We are advising our fellow citizens to take precautions because in the coming days, we expect the recorded heat index to continue to rise,” Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said in a forecast on Wednesday morning.
