MANILA, Philippines — Several areas in the country may experience “extreme caution” heat index level on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa warned heat indices reaching the “extreme caution” level of 33 to 41°C may cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion while prolonged exposure can lead to heat stroke, Heat index, or how hot it actually feels to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature, could climb to 39°C in Cotabato City on Thursday.
