Pagasa: LPA won’t affect PH landmass, unlikely to redevelop into cyclone

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility will not directly affect any part of the Philippine landmass and is unlikely to redevelop into a tropical cyclone, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

In its 5 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), weather specialist Loriedin de la Cruz-Galicia said that the LPA, which was formerly called Caloy, was spotted 980 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of 3 a.m.
