MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is forecast to continue to bring rain showers in Mindanao on Friday, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a 5 a.m. update, Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that heavy rains may occur in most parts of Mindanao, especially in Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City), and Davao Region due to the ITCZ or “the line where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres meet.”
