By Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano may be subpoenaed in the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) probe into the alleged irregularities in the country’s hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, Director Melvin Matibag said Monday.
Matibag explained the move would depend on whether former Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) officials implicate Cayetano.
“That is a problem because it is very clear. No matter which lawyer we ask, before you can become chairman, you must be a member of the board. If you are not a member of the board, how did you become chairman?” the NBI director said in Filipino.
