MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has declared war against his attackers, warning those who would try to silence him using his past.
Even before the resumption of the Senate blue ribbon hearing into anomalous flood control projects last Monday, Estrada said he was already told that he would become an “easy target” because of the accusations hurled at him in connection with the so-called pork barrel scam.
“No, Mr. President. I cannot and will not shirk from my sworn duty to ferret out the truth. I will not be silenced when I know I can contribute something to the task at hand. I will continue to do my best to be worthy of the support that I was generously given by the people who elected me back to this Senate,” he said in a privilege speech on Wednesday.
