MANILA, Philippines — Actions taken by the House of Representatives’ committee on justice regarding the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte were all for public interest and complied with existing laws, panel chairperson and Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro said on Monday.
In a statement, Luistro said she had not received a copy of the complaint filed by lawyer Manases Carpio, Duterte’s husband, regarding the alleged violation of bank secrecy laws supposedly committed during the April 22 committee hearing on the impeachment proceedings.
