MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao will begin bringing rain over the Visayas, Mindanao, and parts of the Bicol Region on Monday, the state weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last spotted 715 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
“The entire Visayas, including Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region, will have high chances of rain, thunderstorms, and lightning due to the LPA,” said PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda in a forecast on Sunday afternoon.
